John’s been a part of the swim team at the Alaska Club for a few months now. He’s really loving it. Since he’s not much into skiing we’re happy about that. Alaska Pacific SC hosted some open races and invited the Alaska Club Torpedoes. Any swimmer under 14 and in stroke school or equivalent qualified to participate. It was a great time at the East High Pool!

Each swimmer could enter two events. He picked the 25m freestyle and the 50m backstroke. And…drumroll, please…John won both his events. Here’s his backstroke race filmed with Kyle’s Sony digital camera. Check out the flip turn he learned a few days before the race:
