Stealth Spider

Since we’re on a roll with bugs and scary, creepy creatures. Kevin would dearly love to see one of these the next time we are Down Under. It’s a huntsman spider trying to hide behind a clock. This is a big hit on digg.

Simple things make me happy. The bugs haven’t been bad this year. That’s a good thing since the Mosquito Magnet has been unreliable. I guess they’re not supposed to last more than a couple seasons. Aaargh!

But one of the best tools for battling the buzzing little beasties up close and personally is a Mosquito Racket. It looks like a harmless badminton racket but its battery power sends an electric current through its web. Swat a mosquito with it and the bug gets zapped producing a very satisfying sizzle and pop. (heh, heh, heh) No longer do we lose sleep to the little nasties. Even better the kids love to use these things. John and his pals search and destroy with glee. We buy a new one every spring and the product improves every year. Available at Wal-Mart and Fred Meyer.

There are other ways to battle mosquitoes but we have found none better than the Magnet and the Racket. No, Skin So Soft does not work. For nonviolent types here’s 10 Thrifty Ways to Deal with Mosquitoes (snicker).
